CCC Kids Ride 2008
This was an awesome event for kids. The Capitol Chapter did a great job of making it all about kid fun. G reunited with friends Ty and Trace (from past CCC years) and made new friends in Bryce and Chance.
For parents--at least for us and Bryce's Dad--it was a first lesson in not being cool enough to join the younger set. At the hot dog cookout and drawing, both Paul and Tom attempted to set their chairs up with the boys--only to be told to go away. LOL Here they are, all lined up and happy to be on their own.
After the drawing, event organizers put together an obstacle course for them. Each had to ride their dirtbikes down a narrow wooden plank, weave in and out of hay bales and end down another wooden plank. They had a good time. And an even better time later when they used the course materials to construct stunt jumps for their bicycles. In one moment, I turned to see G laughing his encouragement as Ty and Trace (10 and 11 years old) rode his bicycle up a see-saw plank over a hay bale. I smiled at T and T's Mom and commented on how much fun G was having. In the next moment, I looked over to find G perched atop the see saw on his bike, with Ty and Trace on either side of him holding him up. And now he is in fun heaven I said to their Mom. LOL

Another relaxing weekend with old and new friends and nothing to do but watch our boy enjoy himself.
